UCL: Carlo Ancelotti names four favourites to win trophy

Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of the Brazilian national football team, has identified four top contenders for this season’s UEFA Champions League title. In an interview with Tutto Sport, he named Paris Saint‑Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich as his favorites to win the prestigious competition.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming fixtures, Ancelotti noted that the traditional powerhouses—Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City and Bayern Munich—are once again poised to make deep runs. The Italian coach, who has won the Champions League with both Real Madrid and AC Milan, emphasized that these clubs have consistently demonstrated the ability to perform at a high level.

Ancelotti also commented on the expanded first phase of the tournament, which was intended to boost interest and excitement. He suggested, however, that the opening matches have not fully lived up to expectations, producing some surprising results and high‑scoring games. Despite this, he acknowledged that the competition is still in its early stages and that the favorites are likely to assert themselves as the tournament progresses.

Paris Saint‑Germain, the current Champions League holders, will be looking to defend their title after a dominant 5‑0 victory over Inter Milan in last season’s final. With the tournament heating up, fans can expect intense competition among the top teams—including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich—as they vie for spots in the later stages. Ancelotti’s assessment of the leading contenders will be closely watched, and their performances will be scrutinized in the coming weeks.
