Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has praised the current governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for his accomplishments in the state, noting that he is governing with ease, unlike his own tenure which was marked by constant battles. Fayose made the comments during the commissioning of the Igbaraodo-Ikogosi road, an event held to mark Oyebanji’s third year in office.
Fayose commended Oyebanji for his developmental strides in Ekiti State, stating that he has raised the bar and brought unity among the people, regardless of their political affiliations. He emphasized that, despite being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he is willing to acknowledge and celebrate Oyebanji’s achievements.
The former governor reflected on his own time in office, describing it as a period of constant struggle. “I used my tenure as governor to fight battles. Morning, afternoon, and night, it was battle,” he said. In contrast, Oyebanji is “riding and doing everything for Ekiti people in comfort,” according to Fayose.
Fayose also addressed critics, particularly those on the internet who are not from Ekiti State, stating that their negative comments are irrelevant and only serve to highlight the value of God’s presence in Oyebanji’s life. He emphasized that the governor’s accomplishments speak for themselves and that anyone who fails to support him will be left behind.
The commissioning of the Igbaraodo-Ikogosi road is a significant milestone in Oyebanji’s administration, demonstrating his commitment to infrastructure development in the state. Fayose’s praise for the governor’s efforts underscores the importance of putting aside political differences to acknowledge progress and work towards the betterment of Ekiti State. As Oyebanji continues to implement his policies and projects, it remains to be seen how his administration will address the state’s ongoing challenges and build on its achievements.
