Police Commissioner Decorates 29 Officers With New Ranks In Kano

Kano CP decorates 29 newly promoted officers, urges them to lead with integrity

The Kano State Police Command has promoted 29 officers to new ranks, in a move aimed at enhancing its operational efficiency and service delivery. The decoration ceremony, which took place at the Officers’ Mess in Kano, was attended by senior police officials, including the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

According to CP Bakori, the promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission, based on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. The commissioner described the promotions as a well-deserved recognition of the officers’ hard work, commitment, and dedication to service. He thanked the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1, for his guidance and support, which has contributed to the strengthening of policing in Kano.

The promoted officers include two who were elevated from Chief Superintendent to Assistant Commissioner of Police, 21 from Superintendent to Chief Superintendent, and six from Deputy Superintendent to Superintendent of Police. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, was also decorated with his new rank.

CP Bakori congratulated the newly promoted officers, reminding them that their new ranks come with greater responsibilities. He urged them to lead by example, uphold the values of professionalism, integrity, and discipline, and inspire their subordinates to do the same. The commissioner reassured Kano residents of the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order across the state, and called on the promoted officers to contribute to this effort.

The promotion of these officers is expected to boost the command’s capacity to address the security challenges facing Kano State and the nation at large. With their new ranks, the officers are expected to play a more significant role in maintaining peace and order, and upholding the rule of law.
