Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has thanked the state’s residents after securing a second term in office, with his deputy, Onyeka Ibezim, also retaining his position. Speaking after being declared the winner of the governorship election, Soludo described the renewed mandate as a significant victory and a historic moment for Anambra State. He said the people have sent a strong message of confidence in his administration, which he views as a testament to the progress made during his first term.
In the 2021 election, Soludo’s initial victory was marked by low voter turnout, with only about 112,000 votes cast. The latest election, however, saw a notable increase in citizen participation, with roughly 22 percent of registered voters casting their ballots. This rise in turnout is being hailed as a positive development for the state’s democratic process.
Governor Soludo assured Anambra’s citizens that his administration will intensify efforts to deliver development across the state. He emphasized that his team is committed to building on the achievements of the past four years while introducing new initiatives to drive growth and progress. “You have not seen anything yet,” he said, adding that his administration is ready to work in partnership with the people to achieve greater things.
The re‑election is being interpreted as a vote of confidence in Soludo’s policies and programs. With a renewed mandate, he is expected to continue implementing his vision for the state, focusing on economic development, infrastructure, and social services. As Anambra looks to the future, the governor’s commitment to delivering development and improving residents’ lives will be closely watched.
