The Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, has denied any involvement in a plot to tarnish the reputation of Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin. In a statement released on Sunday, Dan Agundi’s media aide, Abubakar Balarabe Kofar Naisa, revealed that certain individuals had approached the Director-General to participate in a campaign against Senator Barau following the Senate’s suspension of the screening of Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat, the nominee for Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
According to Dan Agundi, he declined to join the campaign, viewing it as a deliberate attempt to damage Senator Barau’s reputation. He warned those behind the move to desist, threatening to publicly expose them if they continue their efforts to discredit the senator. Dan Agundi emphasized his commitment to avoiding personal attacks and insults, even in the realm of politics, and described Senator Barau as a respectable leader who should not be subjected to false accusations.
