Soludo to Join APC, Says Orji Kalu

I'll campaign for Tinubu 'day and night' - Orji Uzor Kalu on how APC will win S'East

Abia North Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has announced that Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo will be joining the All Progressives Congress, APC. According to Senator Kalu, Soludo, who was recently re-elected for a second term, shares similar progressive ideologies with himself, President Bola Tinubu, and the Senate President.

Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly, Senator Kalu stated that Soludo’s decision to join the APC is a matter of inevitability, given their shared progressive values. “After all the court cases, he is a progressive like myself, President Tinubu, and the Senate President. Soludo is a progressive. He will come to APC. In fact, it is confirmed that he will join APC. He has no other alternative,” he said.

When asked about reports that Abia State Governor Alex Otti, a member of the Labour Party, may also join the APC, Senator Kalu emphasized that the ruling party does not coerce individuals into joining its ranks. “Neither I nor other senators, the Senate President, or President Tinubu have ever forced anybody to join our party,” he clarified.

Soludo’s decision to join the APC comes after his successful re-election bid, in which he defeated APC’s Nicholas Ukachukwu by over 300,000 votes. The development is likely to have significant implications for the political landscape in Nigeria, particularly in the southeastern region.

As the APC continues to expand its membership, the party’s leadership has been working to attract prominent politicians from other parties. The potential addition of Governor Soludo, a well-respected economist and politician, is seen as a major coup for the APC.

The move is also expected to have far-reaching consequences for the political dynamics in Anambra State and beyond. With Soludo’s impending defection, the APC is poised to strengthen its presence in the region, potentially altering the balance of power in the country’s political landscape. As the situation continues to unfold, political observers will be closely watching the developments and their potential impact on the nation’s political terrain.
