The win was secured by a brace from Chinedu Emmanuel, while Sunday Megwo scored the lone goal for Abia Warriors. In a post‑match interview, Okara attributed the result to the players’ hard work and resolve, stating, “the victory was achieved through hard work and determination.”

The triumph lifts Bayelsa United to 10th place in the league with 18 points, moving them into the top half of the table after previously hovering in the danger zone. Okara highlighted that the team is “moving towards the right direction” and expressed satisfaction with the performance, noting that they have been working to climb the standings.
