Hon. Jamilu Kabir Bichi, a prominent member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Bichi Local Government Area, has submitted his resignation, citing persistent marginalization despite his substantial contributions. In a letter dated November 19, 2025, addressed to the party’s ward chairman, Kabir described his decision as “painful yet necessary,” attributing it to the party’s alleged neglect of his efforts and those of his supporters in his home community.
Kabir, who served as the Director‑General of the 2023 NNPP campaign in Bichi, said the party’s leadership has failed to acknowledge the sacrifices and hard work of loyal members, leading to widespread disillusionment. He expressed particular disappointment that the leadership has not provided opportunities for dedicated members to serve in the party or government after electoral victories, making it impossible for him to continue his association with the NNPP.
As a principled individual with a clear political vision, Kabir emphasized that he can no longer remain in a party that compromises his values. He thanked his political mentor, former Minister of Commerce and Industry Hon. Ahmad Garba Bichi, praising his patience, loyalty, and straightforwardness. Kabir reaffirmed his commitment to “politics without bitterness,” concluded his letter with a prayer for divine guidance for the people of Bichi, Kano, and Nigeria, and pledged to continue serving humanity.
The resignation of Hon. Jamilu Kabir Bichi may have significant implications for the NNPP’s structure and morale in Bichi Local Government Area. As a key figure, his departure could prompt a reassessment of the party’s approach to member engagement and recognition, underscoring the importance of acknowledging loyal members’ contributions and providing them with growth and participation opportunities.
