According to Governor Zulum, compared to the peak of the crisis years ago, the current security landscape shows significant improvement, despite recent setbacks. He urged residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely intelligence to help prevent attacks and consolidate peace. The governor acknowledged that while attacks on communities and security forces have occurred, the frequency and scale of these attacks have diminished over time.

Governor Zulum commiserated with the Nigerian Army over recent tactical setbacks and praised the officers and soldiers for their bravery and sacrifices. He described them as national heroes and reiterated the government and people of Borno’s commitment to standing with the Nigerian Armed Forces. The governor emphasized that the government will not take the sacrifices of the military for granted.

Lieutenant General Waidi assured that the army headquarters would provide all necessary logistics and resources to the troops operating in the state. He also commended Governor Zulum for his continued support to the military, expressing appreciation for the governor’s visit and acknowledging the importance of the state government’s backing.

The Chief of Army Staff stated that the army has confidence in the society within the theatre of operations and pledged full support to ensure the troops achieve their mission. The improvement in the security situation and the cooperation between the state government and the military are significant developments in the ongoing efforts to address the security challenges in Borno State. As the state continues to move towards peace, the sustained collaboration between the government and security agencies will be crucial in consolidating the gains made so far.
