Osun AAC Dismisses Fake Leadership List

Osun AAC warns public against fake working committee list

The Osun State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) has dismissed a purported list of State Working Committee members circulating in the public domain, describing it as fake and unauthorized. The party has urged the public to disregard the list, stating that it did not emanate from any recognized congress, party organ, or legitimate democratic process.

In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Oyefusi Adedamola, the AAC clarified that the only valid leadership is the one elected during its State Congress held on November 22 in Ilesa. This congress involved broad ward and local government representation across the state. The party emphasized that the list of elected members is the only lawful and validly constituted State Working Committee (SWC) of AAC Osun State.

The AAC released the official list of duly elected members, with Olatunji Joshua from Atakunmosa East emerging as State Chairman. Other officers include Olaniyan Ridwan as Deputy Chairman (Osun Central), Azeez Wasiu as Deputy Chairman (Osun East), and Faluyi Olufemi as Deputy Chairman (Osun West). Oni Habeeb A. was elected as State Secretary, while Raufu Sodiq A. and Oyefusi Adedamola were elected as Organising Secretary and Publicity Secretary, respectively.

The party also announced the election of Ogunfeyitmi Funke as Treasurer, Ajilore Olusoji as Financial Secretary, and Adeyemi Sunday Ajibade as Auditor. Ajiboye Opeyemi Mariam was elected as Women Leader, and Folorunso Gbenga was elected as Youth Leader, completing the newly constituted committee.

The AAC advised the public to verify information only through official AAC communication channels and to report any misleading material to the appropriate authorities. The party reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and building a structure that truly represents the aspirations of its members and the people of Osun State.

The dismissal of the fake list and the announcement of the official leadership are significant developments in the Osun State chapter of the AAC. The party’s emphasis on transparency and democratic processes is expected to promote stability and cohesion within the organization. As the AAC continues to build its structure and leadership, it is likely to play a more prominent role in the political landscape of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.
