BREAKING: All Delta PDP Reps defect to APC

A former high‑ranking member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Barrister Timothy Odah, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Odah, who previously served as the PDP’s State Financial Secretary and Legal Adviser, announced his defection during a visit to the APC Secretariat in Abakaliki.

The former commissioner said his decision was driven by a desire to support leaders working toward the progress of Ebonyi State. He thanked Governor Francis Nwifuru for creating an inclusive environment that welcomes all political actors, noting that the governor’s approach has made political reunification in the state possible and meaningful. Odah emphasized the importance of embracing peace, unity, and collective development, stressing that political differences should not lead to hostility and that genuine development can only be achieved through dialogue and collective reasoning.

Odah also urged politicians to avoid violence, especially during elections, arguing that such conduct only empowers adversaries. He observed that the APC and PDP in Ebonyi State are not vastly different but rather two parties with a shared history and common faces that have taken different paths. Vowing to bring back peace‑driven politics, he called on politicians to be ambassadors of peace, empathy, and tolerance.

His return to active politics is expected to help attract much‑needed infrastructure to his Ukawu community, which currently lacks electricity and motorable roads. State APC Chairman Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha welcomed Odah into the party, praising Governor Nwifuru for fostering a political environment that encourages individuals to join or return. Emegha affirmed that the APC in Ebonyi State is committed to peaceful dialogue and collective problem‑solving, adding that opposition can be beneficial in challenging the ruling party to do more, provided it does not lead to conflict. Instead, parties should work together to propose solutions and develop the state.

Odah’s defection is seen as a significant development in Ebonyi State’s political landscape, highlighting the importance of unity and cooperation in achieving progress. As the state continues to navigate its political environment, the focus on peaceful dialogue and collective development is likely to remain a key aspect of its growth.
