APC alleges electoral malpractice in Kano’s by-election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agatu Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State has denied reports of a planned decamping rally scheduled for Saturday, November 29, 2025. According to the party, the claims are false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Hon. Habibu Saidu, the APC Chairman of Agatu LGA, clarified that the party has not organized any such event. He emphasized that neither he nor the Benue State Working Committee of the APC, led by Comrade Austin Agada, has authorized a decamping ceremony or rally in Agatu.

Saidu stated, “The APC under my leadership in Agatu LGA is not organizing any decamping ceremony or rally for members, and no meetings or gatherings have been approved for Saturday.” He warned that a notice circulating on social media about the event is “fake news and misinformation” and should be ignored by all APC members and the people of Agatu.

The Benue APC State Working Committee has also directed its members in Agatu LGA to avoid the purported event, cautioning that noncompliance could lead to disciplinary action. This move is aimed at maintaining order and discipline within the party.

The denial of the planned decamping rally comes as the APC in Benue State continues to work towards strengthening its structure and preparing for future elections. The party has been engaged in various activities aimed at promoting unity and cohesion among its members.

The APC’s swift response to the false reports demonstrates its commitment to transparency and accountability. By dismissing the claims and warning its members against participating in the unauthorized event, the party is taking steps to prevent potential divisions and maintain its focus on its goals.

As the political landscape in Benue State continues to evolve, the APC’s actions will be closely watched by its members, supporters, and the general public. The party’s ability to manage its internal affairs and respond to misinformation will be crucial in maintaining the trust and confidence of its stakeholders.
