The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has launched a comprehensive e‑registration exercise for its members, marking a significant step toward repositioning the party as a modern, digitally driven organization. Party chairman Yemi Sanusi described the initiative as the foundation for future electoral successes and internal planning. He made these remarks while flagging off a training session for local government supervisors and other officials in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The training aims to equip party officials with the skills needed to establish a robust, verifiable digital database of all APC members across the state. Sanusi emphasized that digitizing the membership register is a core mission designed to strengthen the party’s foundation and enhance operational efficiency. The e‑registration exercise, expected to begin before the end of the year, aligns with the party’s renewed drive to modernize its operations.
Sanusi stressed that the party is on a strategic mission to count its votes before the election by digitally documenting every single member. He admonished all officials involved to demonstrate utmost diligence, noting that their activities will be closely monitored at the highest levels. The training session was facilitated by Olusegun Bankole, Administrator for Ogun Central Senatorial District, who guided participants through the technical basics and operational protocols of the party’s online registration platform.
Organising Secretary Yemi Adelani charged supervisors to prepare for the task ahead, urging them to work collectively with ward agents to ensure every party member is effectively mobilized and registered on the portal. Party Secretary Aderibigbe Tella cautioned participants to adhere strictly to the established guidelines for the registration exercise, ensuring uniformity, accuracy, and overall success.
The party has called on members and the general public to await further announcements and to participate fully in the e‑registration exercise when it begins. This development aligns with the national chairman’s recent reaffirmation of the APC’s commitment to fully implementing the membership e‑registration initiative launched last year. Successful implementation is expected to enhance the party’s operational efficiency, strengthen its foundation, and ultimately contribute to future electoral successes.
