Atiku Backs Yohanna as Adamawa ADC Chairman

2027: Nothing will stop ADC – Atiku sends message to Tinubu

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reiterated his backing for Shehu Yohanna as the Acting/Interim Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State. This endorsement comes after all outstanding legal issues were resolved, with key stakeholders in the state signing binding agreements. Atiku’s spokesperson, Paul Ibe, issued a statement urging all ADC stakeholders in the state to operate under the party structure led by Yohanna.

Atiku has also given his endorsement to the Sadiq Dasin-led Transition Team, encouraging it to work closely with the Yohanna-led executive to strengthen the ADC’s presence in Adamawa. The former Vice President emphasized the importance of unity within the party, stating that a divided house cannot stand. He expressed his satisfaction with the resolution of all extant issues, which has enabled the Adamawa ADC family to end the year on a positive note.

The directive from Atiku to the state executive and the Transition Team is in line with the national executive’s stance, led by Senator David Mark, which emphasizes zero tolerance for indiscipline and insubordination. Atiku encouraged both the Adamawa executive led by Shehu and the Dasin Transition Team to collaborate in establishing the ADC as the preferred political party in Adamawa State.

The African Democratic Congress has been working to establish a strong presence in Adamawa State, and Atiku’s endorsement is seen as a significant boost to these efforts. With the resolution of internal disputes and the clarification of the party’s leadership structure, the ADC is now well-positioned to move forward and strengthen its position in the state. The collaboration between the Yohanna-led executive and the Dasin Transition Team is expected to play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
