PDP Zamfara gets 2 lawmakers from APC

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State has announced the defection of two lawmakers from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to its fold. According to a statement by the PDP Publicity Secretary, Halliru Andi, Sulaiman Hassan-Bosko and Nura Dahiru, representing Mafara I and Birnin Magaji constituencies, respectively, have joined the party.

The defection is seen as a significant development in the state’s political landscape, with the PDP attributing it to the “deepening crisis, internal rancour, and poor leadership” within the APC. The party’s spokesperson stated that the lawmakers’ decision to switch allegiance was motivated by the exemplary leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal, who has prioritized security, infrastructure, transparency, and restoring the state’s pride.
