2027: Your one-term prophecy laughable – APC mocks ADC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State says it is gaining strength while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) experiences a decline in membership. This shift is attributed to the efforts of Dr. Bello Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, and Abdulaziz Yari, who are allegedly motivating and supporting party loyalists across the state. Their influence has reportedly led to an influx of politicians from the PDP into the APC.

Alhaji Yusuf Idris, the APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara, affirmed that Matawalle’s and Yari’s motivation and support have been instrumental in attracting top politicians from other parties. A recent example is the defection of Hon. Maharazu Faru, a PDP member representing the Maradun II State House of Assembly constituency, who officially joined the APC. The ceremony took place at the APC Secretariat in Gusau, was chaired by state party chairman Hon. Tukur Danfulani, and attracted a large crowd, including ward chairmen and hundreds of supporters from Faru’s constituency.

Faru explained his decision to leave the PDP by citing Governor Dauda Lawal’s failure to fulfill campaign promises and the neglect of his constituency. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of justice and fairness toward PDP members in his area and the pervasive crises within the party at all levels. According to Faru, these issues are why many governors elected on the PDP platform are moving to the APC, taking a significant number of supporters with them.

The APC’s growing strength in Zamfara State could reshape the region’s political landscape as the party continues to gain momentum ahead of future elections.
