2027: Ogun commissioner urges Nigerian women to support female candidates

The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, urged entrepreneurs and businesswomen in the state to sharpen their skills and become more competitive in the global market. Speaking at the Deemakay Business Exhibition Season 7, held at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, she praised the resilience of entrepreneurs who continue to build and expand their businesses despite economic challenges, noting their vital role in driving community and statewide economic growth.

Adeleye acknowledged the support of the Dapo Abiodun‑led administration, expressing appreciation for the SME‑friendly policies and business‑supportive environment that have enabled initiatives like the Deemakay Exhibition to thrive. She emphasized that offering quality goods and services, adopting customer‑friendly approaches, and maintaining fair pricing are essential for building strong customer relationships and sustaining small‑scale enterprises.

During her interaction with exhibitors, the commissioner encouraged them to remain consistent in delivering high‑quality products and services, to adopt courteous service delivery, and to improve customer engagement. The Deemakay Business Exhibition, conceived by its convener and CEO Adedamola Makanjuola, aims to add value for micro, small, and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs) and vendors in Ogun State, helping them compete with counterparts in Lagos, Abuja, and across Nigeria. The event recorded significant success, with over 100 vendors actively participating.

The exhibition underscores the state government’s commitment to empowering small enterprises, a critical factor in sustaining platforms that promote local commerce and innovation. It is expected to open new opportunities and further strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit within the business community. With continued SME‑friendly policies and a supportive business environment, Ogun State is poised to become a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation, driving economic growth and development in the region.
