Osun NNPP elects new state, LG executives

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Osun State has successfully concluded its state congress, electing new state and local executives. The congress was held on Monday at the party’s secretariat in Osogbo, where delegates chose leaders to manage the party’s administrative affairs.

Re‑elected Osun NNPP Chairman Dr. Oluwatosin Odeyemi described the election as a testament to the confidence party members have placed in the leadership. He thanked the electoral committee and members, urging leaders and supporters to act with integrity, back the new executives, and mobilize for the party’s success. The newly elected state officers include Dr. Tosin Odeyemi as Chairman, Otunba Adekunle Abolade as Deputy State Chairman, Ismail Oladeji as State Secretary, among others.

The executives were chosen by voice vote under the supervision of the electoral committee, chaired by Adedayo Adeyemi, who ensured a free and fair process and orderly conduct by delegates. After the results, Chairman Adeyemi called on the new leaders to uphold their oath and work diligently for the party’s progress.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was represented at the congress by Ishola Olakunle and Abajesude Modupeola, who monitored the election to guarantee its credibility. The NNPP has also announced that its primary election for the 2026 Osun governorship race will be held on December 13, 2025.

The successful congress marks a significant step in the party’s preparation for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State. The election of new executives is expected to strengthen the party’s structure and improve its prospects in future contests. Observers and stakeholders will closely watch the NNPP’s commitment to free and fair elections as it moves toward the upcoming polls.
