APC Warns Opposition Against Distracting Tinubu

2027: Peter Obi may lose opportunity to be our candidate - Labour Party Secretary

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned the opposition to refrain from distracting President Bola Tinubu with “needless politicking and manufactured drama.” According to Seye Oladejo, the APC’s state spokesman, the focus should be on addressing the nation’s challenges rather than engaging in political maneuvering.

Oladejo’s statement comes in response to the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) recent call for former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to decide on joining a coalition. The APC spokesman emphasized that the 2027 elections should not be about “confused coalitions or political experiments,” but rather about prepared leadership.

The APC, as the ruling party, is confident in its achievements across various sectors, including infrastructure, economy, security, and social investment. Oladejo noted that these accomplishments will speak for themselves when the time is right, whereas the opposition has nothing to offer but “recycled slogans and empty promises.”

Meanwhile, the opposition is struggling with internal disagreements, as evident in the public feud between the ADC and Obi. Oladejo described Obi’s approach as waiting for the right moment to strike, likening him to a “panther” stalking distressed political parties. This strategy, according to Oladejo, is more akin to a “political lottery” than a genuine attempt at political organization.

The APC remains focused on governance, economic recovery, and national renewal under President Tinubu’s leadership. As the 2027 elections approach, the party is poised to highlight its achievements and present a clear vision for the country’s future. With the opposition in disarray, the APC is confident that its message will resonate with Nigerians. The upcoming elections will be a crucial test for both the ruling party and the opposition, as they vie for the chance to shape the country’s trajectory.
