APC Blames Makinde for PDP’s Woes, Exonerates Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a statement advising Nigerians to hold Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State accountable for the challenges facing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), rather than attributing them to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This comes as some Nigerians have linked the PDP’s misfortunes to the president.

According to the APC, Governor Makinde’s leadership has contributed significantly to the party’s struggles. The party’s Publicity Secretary in Oyo State, Wasiu Olawale Sadare, stated that Makinde’s lack of capacity, experience, and leadership traits has led to the PDP’s decline. Sadare noted that the governor’s inability to lead the party effectively has resulted in many of his colleagues leaving the party, leaving him as the only PDP governor in Southern Nigeria and one of only a few in the North.

The APC’s statement suggests that Governor Makinde’s leadership has been detrimental to the PDP, and that he is unlikely to be able to revive the party. The party argues that President Tinubu should not be blamed for the PDP’s challenges, but rather, the party’s leaders should take responsibility for their own shortcomings. The APC’s statement implies that the PDP’s problems are internal and that the party needs to look inward to find solutions.

The PDP has faced significant challenges in recent times, including the loss of several high-profile members and a decline in its national influence. The party’s struggles have been attributed to a range of factors, including internal power struggles and a lack of effective leadership. The APC’s statement is the latest development in the ongoing saga surrounding the PDP’s challenges, and it remains to be seen how the party will respond to the criticism.

In the meantime, President Tinubu is expected to continue focusing on his duties as president, while the PDP works to address its internal challenges and regain its footing as a major political force in Nigeria. The outcome of these efforts will likely have significant implications for the country’s political landscape, and will be closely watched by Nigerians and international observers alike.
