Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as essential for securing President Bola Tinubu’s re‑election in 2027. Speaking at the party’s quarterly stakeholders’ meeting, he urged members to set aside personal ambitions and conflicting interests, emphasizing that party cohesion is crucial to achieving this goal. The governor warned that internal divisions could undermine the APC’s electoral chances and called on members to support their preferred aspirants while maintaining unity and avoiding actions that might weaken the party.
Aiyedatiwa highlighted that delivering Ondo State for President Tinubu in 2027 must remain a shared objective for all APC members. The quarterly meeting was designed to enhance engagement, gather feedback, and foster collaboration within the party, as well as to review political and developmental progress in the state. He outlined his administration’s achievements, noting intensified efforts in the health sector, with several facilities undergoing renovation and standby ambulances being provided across local government areas.
The governor also announced that the Federal Government had approved the revalidation of Ondo State’s deep‑seaport licence, which previously contained errors. He explained that ongoing development projects are deliberately spread across all local councils to promote balanced growth statewide. APC Chairman in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, praised the state government for employing youths across various ministries, departments, and agencies.
APC National Vice Chairman (South‑West), Isaac Kekemeke, reaffirmed Aiyedatiwa’s position as the party’s leader in Ondo State, describing him as a strong loyalist and key campaign figure for President Tinubu. Kekemeke observed that most criticisms of the government were coming from within the party and urged the governor to continue accommodating diverse interests within the APC to maintain unity ahead of future political contests. With the 2027 elections on the horizon, the APC’s ability to present a united front will be crucial for President Tinubu’s re‑election, and Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership will play a significant role in achieving this goal.
