Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has officially joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, after receiving his membership card on Sunday. The card was presented to him by Umaru Tanko, Chairman of the APC Hospital Ward in Wukari Local Government Area, during a brief ceremony at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo.
With this registration, Kefas has validated his status as a member of the party, enabling him to participate fully in all APC activities. He disclosed that the official defection ceremony, which was earlier postponed, would be rescheduled and held in the near future. The governor’s registration has been confirmed by the Commissioner for Information and Reorientation, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo, who stated that Kefas is now a full-fledged member of the APC in Taraba State.
As a result of his formal registration, Kefas has assumed leadership of the party in the state. The APC has formally welcomed him into its fold, with Tanko describing the governor as a bonafide member of the party. This development marks a significant shift in the political landscape of Taraba State, as Kefas’ membership is expected to have implications for the state’s political dynamics.
The APC’s acceptance of Kefas into its ranks is seen as a strategic move, as the party seeks to strengthen its presence in the state. The governor’s decision to join the APC has been anticipated for some time, and his formal registration brings an end to speculation about his political affiliations. With his membership now official, Kefas is poised to play a key role in shaping the party’s direction in Taraba State.
The rescheduled defection ceremony is expected to be a significant event, as it will mark Kefas’ formal transition to the APC. The ceremony will provide an opportunity for the party to showcase its strength and unity, as well as Kefas’ commitment to his new political affiliation. As the political landscape in Taraba State continues to evolve, the implications of Kefas’ membership in the APC will be closely watched by political observers and analysts.
