2027: 'Their selfish plot failed' - APC chieftain slams Tinubu, Wike, hails PDP

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has praised the Peoples Democratic Party for its recent efforts to revitalize the organization. The PDP expelled several high‑profile members, including former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, on grounds of anti‑party activities. Eze sees this move as a significant development that could hinder President Bola Tinubu’s alleged plans to create a one‑party state. He commended the PDP’s National Chairman, Kabiru Turaki, for repositioning the party and urged him to work with the African Democratic Congress leadership to counter the ruling party’s dominance.

Eze warned that Wike’s actions threaten Nigeria’s democratic system and advised prominent PDP figures such as Dr. Bukola Saraki and Sule Lamido to reject Wike’s influence. A founding member of the PDP, Eze congratulated the party on the successful conduct of its national convention in Ibadan. Despite attempts by Wike and his allies to disrupt the event, the convention proceeded as planned, resulting in the expulsion of several members—a decision Eze supported as necessary to cleanse the party’s ranks ahead of the 2027 elections.

The PDP’s national convention is viewed as a major development in Nigeria’s political landscape. Overcoming internal challenges and holding a successful convention has been hailed as a positive step toward a more robust opposition. Eze believes the party’s resurgence deals a blow to the APC’s alleged one‑party ambitions and urges Nigerians to appreciate the current PDP leadership for defying those plans. As the country approaches the 2027 elections, a strong, unified opposition will be crucial for ensuring a democratic and representative government. With its newfound momentum, the PDP is expected to provide a viable alternative to the ruling APC, fostering a more competitive and engaging political environment in the years ahead.
