From Borno, the president proceeded to Bauchi State, where he paid a condolence visit to the state government and the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a renowned Islamic cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood. Sheikh Bauchi died on November 27, and Tinubu’s visit was a gesture of respect and solidarity with the people of Bauchi.
The president’s arrival in Lagos marks the start of his holiday engagements in the state. He is expected to participate in several activities, including the Eyo Festival on December 27, where he will be the guest of honor. Held at Tafawa Balewa Square, the festival will celebrate prominent personalities such as the president’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, and the late former Lagos governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola. The Eyo Festival is a significant cultural event that showcases Lagos’s rich heritage and traditions, and the president’s attendance highlights the importance of cultural preservation and community celebration.
