The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has intensified security measures in Bauchi State ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year festivities. According to the State Commandant, Oloyede Oyerinde, a total of 1,100 personnel have been deployed across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property during the holiday period.
The security arrangement, which includes both covert and overt operations, aims to prevent criminal activities and protect critical national assets and infrastructure. Personnel will be strategically stationed at worship centres, motor parks, eateries, banks, hotels, and other public places to maintain law and order. Joint patrols of identified flashpoints will also be conducted to prevent any potential threats.
Commandant Oyerinde has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and other operatives to remain diligent and professional in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized the need for officers and men to be proactive and vigilant to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festive season. Residents have been advised to avoid actions capable of breaching public peace and to promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest NSCDC office for swift response.
The NSCDC Bauchi State Command is working in synergy with other security agencies to maintain law and order during the festive period. The Commandant has reassured residents of adequate security coverage, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to the protection of lives and property.
