Nigeria restored faith with a thrilling 3‑2 victory over Tunisia in their Group C encounter. The Super Eagles surged ahead with a 3‑0 lead before conceding two late goals. Despite the comeback, coach Chelle remained optimistic, saying, “Tunisia’s return gives me something to work with and gives the squad something to improve on.”

Tunisia defender Dylan Bronn admitted his side had a poor start, allowing Nigeria to dominate early on. He praised the improvement shown in the latter stages, noting the team’s “neat construction and style” and emphasizing that they learn from every match. The defeat raises the stakes for Tunisia’s final group game against Tanzania, where another loss could leave them at the bottom of the group.

In other news, Benin secured their first group‑stage win in their fifth Africa Cup of Nations appearance, edging Botswana after Yohan Roche redeemed himself with a goal following his earlier mistake against the Democratic Republic of Congo. The win puts Benin in contention for the knockout stage alongside Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo, who drew 1‑1 in their match.

Senegal, after earning four points from two games against the Democratic Republic of Congo, were unable to claim victory in their third encounter, leaving both teams on four points. Benin’s triumph adds further excitement to Group D, and the final group matches are expected to be intense as teams battle for a place in the next phase of the tournament.
