The paramount ruler of Emohua Kingdom in Rivers State, Eze Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse, has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, as a reliable ally and leader. Awuse, who is also the Chairman of the South South Monarchs Forum, made this statement during Wike’s Christmas visit to Rumuche Emohua in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers.
According to Awuse, the people of Emohua owe a great deal to Wike and are committed to supporting him. “We have decided that wherever you put your leg, Emohua local government will follow you,” he said. Awuse also commended President Bola Tinubu’s performance, citing improvements in the nation’s economy, stabilization of the Naira, and increased foreign reserves. As an accountant and former politician, Awuse believes that Tinubu’s economic policies have yielded positive results, including a significant increase in the country’s external reserves to over $47 billion.
Awuse attributed the transformation of Abuja to Wike’s efforts under Tinubu’s leadership. He advised Wike to remain focused and not be distracted by criticism, stating that a person doing well will inevitably have enemies. The traditional leader appreciated Wike’s annual visits to the area, acknowledging the support of the people and providing assistance to those in need. Awuse publicly expressed his gratitude to Wike for his consistent support, saying, “If I don’t thank you publicly, where will I say it?”
The visit highlights the strong relationship between Wike and the people of Emohua, as well as the perceived positive impact of the current administration’s economic policies. As a key figure in the South South region, Awuse’s endorsement of Wike and Tinubu reflects the complex dynamics of Nigerian politics, where traditional leaders and government officials often interact and influence each other. The event also underscores the importance of building alliances and maintaining relationships in the country’s political landscape.
