The Nigerian government has announced the establishment of Nigeria House Davos, a sovereign convening platform, during the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) scheduled to take place from January 19-23, 2026, in Davos, Switzerland. This initiative marks Nigeria’s first official National House on the Davos Promenade, aiming to project the country’s economic reforms, investment readiness, institutional strength, and cultural identity on the global stage.
Nigeria House Davos is designed to strengthen foreign direct investment (FDI) flows, deepen strategic partnerships, and advance Nigeria’s global economic positioning in alignment with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The platform is the result of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework involving relevant Ministries, including the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment, Finance, and Foreign Affairs, and the private sector.
The programme will span five thematic days, covering topics such as solid minerals, mining value chains, trade infrastructure, agriculture, climate investment, energy, environmental sustainability, digital trade, technology, creative economy, and cultural exports. These discussions will integrate finance, legislation, investment security, and investor assurance, providing a comprehensive overview of Nigeria’s economic landscape.
For decades, leading nations and global corporations have leveraged Davos Houses as instruments of soft power, economic diplomacy, and global influence. With Nigeria House Davos, Nigeria now enters this league, presenting its narrative from its own perspective and positioning itself as a serious reform-driven economy open for partnership and investment.
The Nigerian presidency has encouraged strategic participation by key public institutions, the private sector, development finance institutions, and international partners to ensure a unified, dignified, and impactful debut presence on the Davos Promenade. Nigeria House Davos reflects the country’s confidence, ambition, and readiness to engage the world, presenting its narrative with clarity, credibility, and purpose.
The establishment of Nigeria House Davos is a significant step towards promoting Nigeria’s economic interests and strengthening its global presence. As the country prepares to participate in the WEF, the platform is expected to provide a unique opportunity for ministerial engagements, high-level roundtables, policy dialogues, investment meetings, cultural diplomacy, and strategic bilateral discussions. With its launch, Nigeria House Davos is poised to become a vital instrument in the country’s economic diplomacy efforts, promoting investment, trade, and cooperation with international partners.
