APC Chieftain Regains Freedom After 39 Days

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Wale Oriade, has been released after spending 39 days in captivity. Oriade was abducted on December 3, 2025, from his office at PJ Square Shopping Complex in Ibadan. The incident occurred around 7:06 pm when attackers arrived in a blue Micra vehicle and forcibly took him away.

According to eyewitnesses, the attack was carried out with precision, causing concern within the community. The Public Relations Officer of the APC in the state, Wale Sadare, confirmed Oriade’s release, stating, “Yes, I can confirm it. He has been released.” Investigations suggest that a ransom was paid to the abductors before his release, although the state Police command has not issued an official statement.

Oriade’s abduction had raised concerns about the security situation in the state. The incident highlights the need for increased efforts to address kidnapping and other security challenges in the region. As the authorities continue to investigate the incident, the release of Oriade brings relief to his family and the community.

The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has been actively engaged in various political activities, and Oriade’s abduction had sparked fears about the safety of political leaders in the state. The party’s leadership has been working to ensure the security of its members, and Oriade’s release is a welcome development.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the community to prevent and respond to security threats. As the investigation into Oriade’s abduction continues, it is essential to prioritize the safety and well-being of all individuals, particularly those in positions of leadership. With the release of Oriade, attention will now focus on ensuring that those responsible for the abduction are brought to justice and that measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
