Vice-Chancellor Professor Yaqub Geidam appointed at Federal University Gashua

The Federal University Gashu’a in Yobe State, Nigeria, has announced the appointment of Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam as its new Vice-Chancellor. This development follows a rigorous and competitive selection process, as stated by the university’s Deputy Director and Head of Information and Protocol Unit, Mallam Adamu Saleh. Professor Geidam becomes the fourth substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution since its inception.

The appointment was made by the Governing Council of the university, led by Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Usman, in accordance with the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act and relevant regulations. Professor Geidam, a seasoned academic with over two decades of experience, joins the Federal University Gashu’a from the University of Maiduguri, where he previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
