In the southern region, inland cities are expected to experience moderate dust haze, while the coastal region is predicted to have sunny skies with patches of clouds and chances of isolated thunderstorms accompanied by light rains.

NiMet’s forecast specifically mentions that parts of Lagos, Bayelsa, and Rivers States can expect isolated thunderstorms with light rains later in the day on Monday. On Tuesday, the northern region is expected to experience moderate dust haze, while the central region and inland cities of the southern region will also see moderate dust haze. The coastal region is anticipated to have sunny skies with patches of clouds, with prospects of isolated thunderstorms and light rains over parts of Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers States.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, NiMet predicts thick dust haze over the northern region, moderate dust haze over the central region, and dust haze over the inland cities of the southern region. The coastal cities are expected to have sunny skies with patches of clouds throughout the forecast period.

The agency has advised the public to take necessary precautions due to the presence of dust particles in the air, which can exacerbate asthmatic and respiratory conditions. Drivers are cautioned to exercise care when driving in rainy conditions, and airline operators are advised to obtain airport-specific weather reports for effective planning. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates from NiMet through their website. As the weather conditions are expected to impact daily activities, it is essential for the public to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and well-being.
