ADC Vows to Unseat Tinubu in 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed its intention to remove President Bola Tinubu from office in the 2027 elections. According to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC’s goal is to “get our country back” by voted out the current administration.

In an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’, Abdullahi stated that the country has been “hijacked” and that the government’s actions are reminiscent of banditry. He cited the alleged forgery of a duly passed law as an example of the government’s behavior, which he described as unprecedented in Nigeria’s history.

Abdullahi also referenced the reported payment of $9 million to lobbyists to improve the government’s image before the US President, which he sees as a concerning development. The ADC’s stance is that the current administration must be held accountable for its actions, and that the only way to do so is through the electoral process.

The ADC’s announcement comes amid growing concerns about the state of governance in Nigeria. The party’s criticism of the government’s actions is likely to resonate with those who are dissatisfied with the current state of affairs. As the 2027 elections approach, it is likely that the ADC’s campaign will focus on issues of transparency, accountability, and good governance.

The ADC’s efforts to remove President Tinubu from office will depend on its ability to mobilize support and present a viable alternative to the current administration. The party will need to convince voters that it has the vision and the leadership to address the country’s challenges and move it forward. With the election still several years away, it remains to be seen how the ADC’s campaign will unfold and whether it will be successful in its bid to unseat the current government.
