Falcons bring back Kevin Stefanski for second interview

Kevin Stefanski, the former head coach of the Cleveland Browns, is set to have a second interview with the Atlanta Falcons this weekend. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Stefanski will meet with the Falcons on Saturday, making him the first candidate to be called back for a second round of talks.

The Falcons, owned by Arthur Blank, have already spoken to nine potential candidates, including Jesse Minter, Mike McDaniel, and Antonio Pierce. Stefanski’s experience and credentials, which include two Coach of the Year awards, have likely contributed to the team’s interest in him. During his six-year tenure with the Browns, Stefanski compiled a 45-56 record, with more losses than wins.

The news of Stefanski’s second interview has generated a range of reactions from fans on social media. Some have expressed skepticism about the potential hire, with one fan describing it as “brutal.” Others have been more positive, suggesting that Stefanski could help the team and that he might be an improvement over previous coaches.

In addition to the Falcons, the Tennessee Titans are also interested in Stefanski and have scheduled a second meeting with him. However, the Titans are waiting to see if the Falcons will offer him the job first. The Titans are looking for an experienced coach to replace Brian Callahan, who was fired midway through his second year.

Stefanski has reportedly looked into working with Jeff Ulbrich, the Falcons’ current defensive coordinator, which could be a factor in his potential hiring. The Falcons’ owner, Arthur Blank, is said to prefer keeping Ulbrich on staff, which could sweeten the deal for Stefanski if he were to take the job.

The Falcons’ search for a new head coach is ongoing, and the team is likely to make a decision soon. With Stefanski’s second interview scheduled for this weekend, it remains to be seen whether he will become the team’s next head coach. The outcome of the interview process will be closely watched by fans and the media, as the Falcons look to find the right leader to take the team forward.
