Nigeria Weather Forecast Predicts Dust Haze Sunshine

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has issued a weather forecast predicting dust haze and sunshine across the country from Monday to Wednesday. According to the agency’s weather outlook, moderate dust haze is expected over parts of Kebbi and Kano States in the northern region on Monday, with horizontal visibility of 2km to 5km. The rest of the northern states will experience sunny and hazy skies throughout the forecast period.

In the central region, moderate dust haze with reduced visibility is anticipated over parts of the Federal Capital Territory and Niger states, while the remaining states will be under sunny and hazy skies. The southern region is expected to experience sunny skies with a few patches of cloud, along with prospects of afternoon and evening thunderstorms with light rains over several states, including Bayelsa, Lagos, and Cross River.

On Tuesday, slight dust haze is expected over parts of Kano and Kebbi States, while the central region will experience sunny and hazy skies with chances of isolated thundery activity over parts of Plateau State. The southern region will see sunny skies with patches of cloud and prospects of afternoon or evening thunderstorms with light rains over several states.

By Wednesday, the northern region is expected to be sunny and hazy, with similar conditions prevailing in the central region. The southern region will experience sunny skies with a few patches of cloud, along with prospects of afternoon or evening thunderstorms with light rains over several states.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has advised the public to take necessary precautions due to the presence of dust particles in the air, which can exacerbate respiratory issues such as asthma. The agency has also cautioned drivers to exercise caution while driving in rainy conditions and advised airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports for effective planning.
