Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed his administration’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, citing the numerous development projects and initiatives brought to the state under the current federal government. Speaking during a stakeholders’ engagement on the ongoing electronic registration of All Progressives Congress (APC) members, Governor Sani highlighted various projects executed by the federal government in Kaduna State, including the Kaduna State Light Rail project, which received N1 billion in funding.
The governor noted that this level of support is unprecedented in northern Nigeria, with only Lagos State receiving similar backing for its light rail project. He also announced that Kaduna State has been selected as the pilot state for a major poultry project, expected to generate 350,000 jobs and support 10,000 small businesses. The project, valued at $200 million, is set to commence in the next three weeks.
In addition to these initiatives, Governor Sani mentioned the approval of the Mando-Birnin Gwari road construction and the reconstruction of the Kwoi-Jama’a road. He also acknowledged the support of the Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, in securing funding for various projects in the state, including a N53 billion initiative to address erosion and climate issues in Zaria and Rigasa.
The governor’s engagement with stakeholders is part of the ongoing e-registration exercise, which aims to register 2.5 million APC members in Kaduna State. Governor Sani expressed confidence that the state will be one of the leading states in the exercise, given the progress made by the state government and the support received from the federal government. The e-registration exercise is seen as a crucial step in strengthening the party’s presence in the state and preparing for future elections.
With the support of President Tinubu’s administration, Kaduna State has witnessed significant development in various sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, and environment. The state’s inclusive development model, coupled with the federal government’s initiatives, has attracted many opposition members to the APC, solidifying the party’s position in the state. As the e-registration exercise continues, Governor Sani’s administration is poised to capitalize on the momentum, ensuring a strong showing for the APC in future elections.
