APC Strategy Committee Holds Inaugural Meeting

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilization Committee convened its inaugural meeting in Abuja on Wednesday. Hosted by committee chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, at the Yobe State Governor’s Lodge, the gathering brought together key party stakeholders. Attendees included Governors Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Uba Sani of Kaduna, and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti.

Other notable figures present were Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; Senator Kabiru Marafa; former APC National Legal Adviser, Muiz Banire; and Ibrahim Masari, Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Political Affairs. However, Governors Bassey Otu of Cross River, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, and Umar Namadi of Jigawa, who are also committee members, were absent from the meeting.

This committee was established by President Bola Tinubu on December 24, with the primary objective of resolving internal party conflicts and enhancing the APC’s mobilization efforts nationwide. As the ruling party, the APC’s ability to manage its internal dynamics and maintain a strong support base is crucial for its continued success. The committee’s formation is a response to the party’s need for a cohesive and effective strategy to address its challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

The meeting marks the beginning of the committee’s work, and its outcomes are expected to have significant implications for the APC’s future. As the party navigates the complexities of Nigerian politics, the committee’s efforts to resolve conflicts and mobilize support will be closely watched. The success of this initiative will depend on the committee’s ability to engage with stakeholders, address grievances, and develop a strategy that resonates with party members and the broader electorate. With the APC’s national leadership committed to strengthening the party, the work of the Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilization Committee is a critical step towards achieving this goal.
