The immediate past governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, urged residents to vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the State House of Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday. Speaking during the 12th‑year remembrance prayers for his late mother, Alhaja Wulemot Oyetola, at her residence in Iragbiji, Oyetola emphasized his confidence that God would enable his return to the governorship. His spokesperson, Ismail Omipidan, noted that Oyetola expressed a strong belief in the power of prayer and said he had no doubt about regaining power soon.

Oyetola praised the people of Osun for their support in electing the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the recent presidential election. He argued that, with the APC at the centre of government, it was crucial for voters to complete the process by supporting APC candidates for the state legislature. By aligning with the apex government, he said the state would benefit more, and the elected lawmakers would work for the people’s betterment when he reclaims his mandate.

The former governor assured Osun residents that a progressive government would bring unprecedented development. He added that the president‑elect would build on the gains of the current administration and launch further developmental programmes across the country. Oyetola urged voters not to be intimidated but to turn out in large numbers on Saturday to support APC candidates, noting that such a victory would facilitate his administration’s work when he returns to power.

In his remarks, Oyetola described the remembrance ceremony as a time to thank God and seek forgiveness for his mother’s passing. He asked for continued prayers for the swift reclamation of his mandate and for the APC to win the upcoming House of Assembly election, thereby preventing opposition control. He affirmed that the APC is the party destined to bring victory and benefits, urging everyone to vote for APC candidates throughout the election. He concluded by emphasizing that prayer remains central to their belief system and that continued prayers will lead to gratitude to God in the end.
