Nigeria Govt To Reconstruct Akwanga Jos Road Soon

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to commence the reconstruction of the Akwanga-Jos road, a critical infrastructure project aimed at improving transportation and economic development in the region. Vice President Kashim Shettima made this known during a ceremony to formally welcome Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jos.

According to Shettima, the Bola Tinubu-led administration is committed to providing infrastructure across all parts of the country, with the Akwanga-Jos road project being a key priority. He stated that the contractor is expected to mobilize to the site within the next three weeks to begin the reconstruction work. The Vice President emphasized that the government is dedicated to providing infrastructural development nationwide, with the Akwanga-Jos road project being a testament to this commitment.

In addition to the road project, Shettima announced that President Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in Plateau State to enhance security and protect the state’s forests. The President has also identified Plateau as the pilot state for the national livestock development project, aimed at promoting economic growth and development in the agricultural sector.

Shettima urged Governor Mutfwang, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, to provide leadership and unity in the state, bringing together former and serving leaders across different tribes, religions, and political affiliations to drive progress in Plateau. The Vice President assured residents of the federal government’s commitment to addressing insecurity and ensuring lasting peace in the state.

The reconstruction of the Akwanga-Jos road and the recruitment of forest guards are expected to have a significant impact on the economic and social development of Plateau State. As the government moves forward with these projects, it is likely to have a positive effect on the state’s infrastructure, security, and overall well-being of its residents. With the federal government’s focus on providing infrastructure and promoting economic growth, Plateau State is poised to benefit from these initiatives, leading to improved living standards and increased opportunities for its citizens.
