Labour Party Warns of Fake X Account, No Active Social Media

The Leadership of Nigeria’s Labour Party (LP) has publicly disowned a fraudulent social media profile, warning citizens to disregard information from an unauthorised account operating under its name. In an official statement released on Monday in Abuja, the party clarified that it currently does not operate any active social media accounts.

The statement, issued by Ken Asogwa, Senior Special Adviser (Media) to the party’s Interim National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, drew attention to a fake X (formerly Twitter) account. The impersonator account uses the display name “Nigeria Labour Party (LP)” and the handle @NewsLp26689. A review indicated the account was created in January 2026, shortly after a Federal High Court judgment affirmed Senator Usman as the interim national chairman.
