APC Roundtable Aligns Appointees for Tinubu Second Term

APC Holds Strategy Roundtable to Bolster Unity, Advance Tinubu’s Second-Term Agenda

Senior figures within Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) convened a high-level strategy meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, focused on consolidating party cohesion and advancing plans for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

The meeting, titled the Progressives Strategy Roundtable, was convened by Ismael Ahmed, Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi). It took place at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre and gathered federal ministers, heads of government agencies, and key APC stakeholders from across the nation.

According to a statement from Ahmed’s office, the closed-door session centered on three primary objectives: strengthening internal party unity, reviewing the achievements of the Tinubu administration to date, and developing a strategic framework aimed at securing a successful second term in office.

A significant portion of the discussion addressed the role of political appointees. Ahmed emphasized that all government appointees act as ambassadors for the administration, tasked with representing both the government and the Nigerian public that mandated it. He stated that maintaining robust connections with grassroots communities is essential to uphold the president’s vision and build public trust.

“Now is the moment for us to solidify public trust through meaningful policies and strategic alignment,” Ahmed remarked. “This is how we will pave the way for continued progress as we move towards the next electoral cycle.”

The gathering reflects the APC’s proactive steps ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general election, as the party seeks to present a unified front and articulate the administration’s record. By focusing on policy alignment and grassroots engagement, the strategy roundtable aims to address potential divisions and lay the groundwork for a coordinated campaign, signaling an early start to the political cycle.

The meeting underscores the administration’s intent to frame its tenure around tangible achievements and coordinated messaging, positioning itself for a potential second term while navigating the complex landscape of Nigerian politics.
