Amara Okafor, the second daughter of Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Grace Nation Bible Ministry, is preparing to file formal assault charges against her father. The development emerges from an ongoing public dispute between the clergyman and actress Doris Ogala.
According to reports by Media Talk Africa, the controversy began in December when Ogala publicly accused Pastor Okafor of failing to honor a marriage promise after an eight-year intimate relationship. She further alleged that the pastor engaged in sexual relationships with married members of his church. Following these accusations, Okafor had Ogala briefly detained by police.
After her release, Ogala shared her experience from police custody, stating she declined a reported $10,000 settlement offer from the pastor during a private meeting at the station. In a new Instagram post on Friday, Ogala announced that Amara Okafor has decided to pursue legal action. She shared several videos which she claims document the assault, alleging that Amara was physically attacked and stabbed multiple times after confronting her father about bringing a married church member—reportedly the mother of his current wife—to their home.
Ogala, who described having a close relationship with Amara, further alleged that the pastor stripped his daughter naked during the beating. In her post, she questioned, “How can a father do this to his own daughter?” and stated the incident constituted an attempted murder. “Thank God Amara is ready to press charges now,” she added.
This situation escalates a personal conflict into a potential criminal matter involving a prominent religious leader. The decision by Amara Okafor to involve law enforcement marks a significant turn in the public feud, shifting from social media allegations to formal legal proceedings. The alleged incidents, if proven, could carry serious legal consequences and profoundly impact the reputation of the Grace Nation Bible Ministry. The next steps will likely involve police investigation and potential court proceedings based on the complaints filed.
