The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, held a closed‑door meeting on Tuesday with several governors and the party’s candidates for governorship and state assemblies. The political roundtable took place at the APC National Secretariat and was attended by members of the National Working Committee.
Among those present were APC National Secretary Iyiola Omisore; Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu; Jigawa State Governor Abubakar Badaru; Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle; Deputy Senate President and Delta APC governorship candidate Senator Ovie Omo‑Agege; Rivers State APC governorship candidate Tonye Cole; National Women Leader Zainab Ibrahim; and National Leader of People with Disabilities Tolu Bankole.
The meeting comes three days before Saturday’s governorship and state‑assembly elections and follows the APC’s recent appointment of a team of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, together with the party’s National Legal Adviser Ahmad Usman El‑Marzuq, to defend President‑elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the alleged rigging case before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. Although the agenda was not disclosed, a source at the secretariat indicated that the discussion centered on preparations for the upcoming elections.
