The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has formally inaugurated its newly elected State Executive Council, with Alhaji Muhammad Hassan Tilde assuming the role of State Chairman. The swearing-in ceremony was held on Wednesday at the party’s State Secretariat, administered by Barr. Abdulmumini Adamu, who presented certificates of office.
A total of 36 officials were elected, though 29 were sworn in at the event. Seven members were absent due to prior commitments, including travel abroad and attendance at the party’s zonal congress in Gombe State. The remaining executives are scheduled to take their oath before the party’s forthcoming national convention.
The ceremony was attended by key party figures, including State Secretary Mustapha Zurami, Zonal Vice Chairmen Yusuf Kawu Gana II and Ibrahim Ahmad (Zone III), Legal Adviser Barr. Rabiu Garba, Assistant Legal Adviser Mohammed A. Umar, State Treasurer Ahmed Abubakar Yaro, Financial Secretary Bilya Usman Burna, Assistant Financial Secretary Lamara Ahmad Jajo, State Organising Secretary Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad, Auditor Ayuba Musa, Publicity Secretary Shehu Dauda Mohammed, State Welfare Secretary Ibrahim Gambo, and State Women Leader Rabi Musa.
In his address, Chairman Tilde pledged to uphold the trust placed in the new executive, promising responsible and principled leadership. He called for strict adherence to party regulations, integrity in all duties, and an inclusive internal culture. Tilde urged all APC members in Bauchi State to unite behind the new leadership as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
He emphasized the critical importance of reconciliation and integration across the party ranks to present a cohesive front. Stating the executive’s primary objective, Tilde vowed to work towards securing electoral victories for the APC at all levels—presidential, gubernatorial, National Assembly, and State Assembly—in the next electoral cycle. He further encouraged members to mobilise community support to sustain the party’s growth and influence in the state.
The inauguration of this executive council marks a significant step in the APC’s organisational strengthening in Bauchi State, setting the stage for its strategy in the lead-up to the 2027 polls.
