Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commended the re-election of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), following the party’s eighth National Convention in Abuja.
The convention, held at Eagle Square and attended by over 8,000 delegates, concluded with the election of the National Working Committee (NWC). Governor Abiodun, in a statement from Abeokuta, described the event as peaceful and credible, reflecting the party’s internal unity and democratic principles.
He specifically congratulated Professor Yilwatda, who has led the APC since July 2025, and newly elected NWC members, including Ali Dalori, Benjamin Nwoye, Ajibola Basiru, and AbdulKarim Kana. The governor expressed confidence that the refreshed leadership would successfully guide the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The transparent conduct of the convention, Abiodun noted, reinforced the APC’s stated commitment to democratic ideals and good governance. His statement underscores the significance of the NWC’s role in consolidating the party’s structure ahead of the next electoral cycle, a critical process for the incumbent administration.
