Porto will host Nottingham Forest in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-final on Thursday, with three Nigerian internationals set to feature in a meeting between two storied clubs. Media Talk Africa reports that Porto will field forward Terem Moffi and left-back Zaidu Sanusi, while Ola Aina is expected to line up for Nottingham Forest.
Sanusi has made six appearances in the Europa League this season for Porto, contributing one assist. Moffi, who joined the Portuguese side on loan from Ligue 1 club OGC Nice in January, has scored once in two outings for the Dragons. Aina has featured six times for Nottingham Forest in the competition.
This will be the second encounter between Porto and Nottingham Forest in the current campaign. In the league phase last October, Nottingham Forest secured a 2-0 victory over Porto, marking their first-ever meeting in European competition.
Porto, a two-time European Cup winner, are aiming to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2021. Nottingham Forest, seven-time European champions, are seeking to replicate their continental success from the late 1970s and early 1980s. The tie will be decided over two legs, with the second leg scheduled for next Thursday in England.
