The National Rescue Movement, Ebonyi State Chapter, on Thursday, collapsed its political structure into the fold of the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the state.
The party also declared its support for the governorship candidate of the PDP, Ifeanyi Odii, even as it charged its members across the 13 local government areas of the state to vote for the PDP in all elective positions.
In a communique signed by the Chairman of the group in Ebonyi State, Hon. Stanley Ogodo and Secretary, Pastor Ifeanyi Mbam, the party said it unanimously endorse the PDP governorship candidate after due consultation with stakeholders.
“Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii who is standing out among all other contestants of a different political party in Ebonyi State is well competent, credible, reliable and compassionate to the people and committed as such that, if he emerges as a governor, Ebonyi will be better again.
“All our State House of Assembly candidates is supporting his candidature as he will make a good Government with them.
“We enjoin our members, supporters, and people of Ebonyi State to support and vote for Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii on 18th March 2023.”
Receiving the members and leadership of NRM, the Ebonyi Director General of the PDP Campaign Council, Austin Edeze, explained that the PDP governorship candidate was in the race because he has the vision to rescue the state from any form of political degradation, poverty, and subjugation.
He said the PDP would form a unitary government that would benefit all and sundry in the state.
“We have come to rescue the State. We are going to form a unitary government and by that formation, members and leaders of NRM will also benefit,” he said.
He urged them to work hard for the Party during the elections as PDP was determined to come out victorious at the polls.
