D4vd Arrested for Murder of 14-Year-Old Girl Found in Car Trunk

US singer D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the decomposed body of a 14-year-old girl was discovered in the trunk of a car registered in his name.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been missing for nearly 18 months when her remains were found on 8 September in an abandoned vehicle at a Hollywood tow yard. Authorities were alerted to the scene after reports of a foul smell emanating from the car.

Court documents state that police recovered a cadaver bag containing a head and torso, as well as a second bag holding dismembered body parts. Forensic examinations confirmed the identity of the victim.

The 21-year-old artist, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, is being held without bail. His legal team has stated that he is innocent.

D4vd rose to prominence among Generation Z audiences with his fusion of indie rock, R&B, and lo-fi pop. He gained widespread attention in 2022 after his song “Romantic Homicide” went viral on TikTok.

Los Angeles police have confirmed that the investigation into Hernandez’s death had been ongoing since the remains were discovered. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the circumstances of the case or the evidence linking Burke to the crime.

The case has drawn significant attention due to the artist’s public profile and the disturbing nature of the allegations.
