Rivers Police Deploy Operatives to Secure JAMB UTME Exam Centres

The Rivers State Police Command has deployed operatives to secure Computer-Based Test centres across the state for the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The measure, announced by the command’s spokesperson, ASP Blessing Agabe, follows directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, aimed at ensuring safety during the examination period.

Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju ordered the deployment of personnel, operational assets, and intelligence resources to all approved JAMB centres. Agabe said officers have been instructed to maintain professionalism, prevent examination malpractice, and ensure orderliness at all UTME venues.

The police will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to secure examination venues, adjoining areas, and access routes. Enhanced patrols, intelligence gathering, and traffic control have been activated around the centres to deter any security breaches.

Adepoju urged candidates, parents, and guardians to cooperate with security personnel and adhere to examination guidelines. He warned that any attempt to undermine the integrity of the examination would be met with strict legal action.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state and advised residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
