Nollywood actress and producer Laide Bakare has announced plans to marry for the third time, describing the upcoming union as her first “official” marriage despite two previous unions.
In an interview with content creator Akin Abolade, the movie star revealed that preparations for the wedding are already underway, though she declined to disclose the date or identity of her fiancé.
Bakare has been married twice before. Her first marriage was to US-based businessman Olumide Okufulure, with whom she has a daughter named Simi. Following their separation, she married Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo in 2012, and they had two sons together. The second marriage ended after Orilowo was reportedly declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2014 over alleged fraudulent activities.
The actress has previously stated her openness to multiple marriages, telling the Real Life With Aunty Ayo podcast that she would consider marrying up to five times if necessary.
Bakare, known for her work both in front of and behind the camera, has built a successful career in Nigeria’s film industry while navigating personal challenges in the public eye. Her announcement has generated discussion among fans and industry observers about marriage, relationships, and personal growth in the entertainment sector.
The wedding, when it takes place, will mark a new chapter for the actress as she enters what she describes as her first official marriage.
