Nollywood actress and producer Laide Bakare has announced her plans to marry for the third time, referring to this upcoming union as her first “official” marriage, despite having been married twice before. In an interview with content creator Akin Abolade, Bakare shared that preparations for the wedding are already in progress, although she chose not to reveal the date or the identity of her fiancé.
Bakare’s previous marriages include her first to US-based businessman Olumide Okufulure, with whom she shares a daughter named Simi. After their separation, she married Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo in 2012, and together they had two sons. However, this second marriage ended when Orilowo was reportedly declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2014 due to alleged fraudulent activities.
The actress has expressed her openness to multiple marriages, stating on the Real Life With Aunty Ayo podcast that she would consider marrying up to five times if necessary. Known for her contributions both in front of and behind the camera, Bakare has established a successful career in Nigeria’s film industry while managing personal challenges in the public eye. Her announcement has sparked discussions among fans and industry observers regarding marriage, relationships, and personal growth within the entertainment sector. When the wedding occurs, it will signify a new chapter for Bakare as she embarks on what she considers her first official marriage.
