Blord Returned to Kuje Prison After Failing to Meet Bail Conditions

Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, was briefly released on bail on Friday but returned to Kuje prison shortly afterward after failing to meet the court’s bail conditions.

Blord had been in detention for at least two weeks over allegations of impersonating social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). On Saturday, VDM shared a video on his official Facebook page explaining the circumstances surrounding Blord’s temporary release and subsequent return to custody.

According to VDM, the court granted Blord bail on the condition that he submit his international passport. However, due to delays in retrieving the document from Anambra State, Blord was unable to fulfill this requirement in time. As a result, he was taken back to Kuje Correctional Centre, where he will remain until the passport is presented, likely on Monday.

The case has drawn attention due to the high profile of both Blord in Nigeria’s cryptocurrency sector and VDM in social media activism. The allegations of impersonation have added a layer of complexity to the legal proceedings, with the court emphasizing the importance of the passport as a condition for bail.

Blord’s legal team is reportedly working to expedite the retrieval of the passport to secure his release. Meanwhile, the case continues to be closely watched by both the cryptocurrency community and social media observers.

Further updates are expected as the legal process unfolds.
